Everything DroidPass does, and how to use it.
Short, step-by-step answers for every part of the app. Start at the top if you are new.
Getting started
- Install DroidPass Get the app on iPhone, iPad, Android or Mac. It is the same vault everywhere, and it syncs.
- Create your account Sign up with an email address, Apple or Google. Your account is what lets the vault sync between devices.
- Set your Master PIN The PIN that unlocks your vault. Choose it carefully — it is not the same as your account password.
- Save your Emergency Kit A one-page PDF that gets you back into your vault on a new device. Print it or keep it offline.
Your vault
- Add a password Save a login by hand: site, username, password, and a 2FA code if the site uses one.
- Add a credit card Save a credit card to your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs.
- Add a bank account Save a bank account to your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs.
- Add a secure note Save a secure note to your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs.
- Add Wi-Fi details Save Wi-Fi details to your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs.
- Add a contact Save a contact to your vault. Everything is encrypted on your device before it syncs.
- Edit or delete an entry Open it, change what you need, or remove it for good.
- Search your vault Find an entry by name as you type, or filter by type.
Moving in
- Transfer from another app iPhone & iPad Move passwords and passkeys from your old password manager with no file to export.
- Transfer from another app Android DroidPass starts the transfer on Android. Pick your old manager and approve it there.
- Import from a CSV file The fallback when direct transfer is not offered: export a CSV from your old manager and pick it here.
Autofill
- Turn on AutoFill iPhone & iPad Let DroidPass fill logins in Safari and other apps. One setting in iOS, then it just works.
- Turn on autofill Android Make DroidPass your autofill service. The Settings path differs by manufacturer — all of them are here.
- Fill a password Once autofill is on, your logins appear as you tap a sign-in field. Three steps, every time.
- Save a new login When you sign up somewhere new, DroidPass offers to keep the login without you opening the app.
- AutoFill on Mac Mac DroidPass runs on Apple Silicon Macs as the iPad app, and fills logins there too.
Passkeys
- What is a passkey A sign-in that replaces the password entirely. Nothing to type, nothing to leak in a breach.
- Turn on passkeys Switch the feature on once, save the Emergency Kit, and websites can start offering DroidPass as a passkey provider.
- Create a passkey Websites offer it; you choose DroidPass. The passkey is made and filed in your vault.
- Sign in with a passkey Tap the sign-in field, pick your passkey, confirm with Face ID. No password at any point.
Authenticator & 2FA
- Add a 2FA code Keep your one-time codes beside the passwords they protect, instead of in a separate app.
- Scan a QR code The quickest way to add a 2FA code. Point the camera at the square the website shows.
- Use your 2FA codes Open the Authenticator screen, copy the current code, paste it into the site. It refreshes every 30 seconds.
Security
- Change your Master PIN Pick a new PIN from Settings. Everything in the vault is re-encrypted, then the app locks so you can sign back in.
- Generate a strong password Make a random password of any length, with or without symbols, and save it straight to an entry.
- Check weak passwords Password Audit scores everything in your vault and tells you what to fix first.
- Lock and unlock Choose how soon the vault locks itself, and whether Face ID can open it.
Your account
- Change your password The password that signs you in — not the Master PIN that opens the vault.
- Change the language DroidPass speaks 29 languages. Pick one, or let it follow your device.
- Delete your account Remove everything permanently. There are two separate actions — clearing your entries, and deleting the account itself.
- Subscription and Pro What the free plan includes, what Pro adds, and where to cancel.
- Change the theme and colour Light, dark or midnight, and the accent colour the app uses throughout.
- Change an entry’s icon or colour Give a login its own icon and colour so you can find it at a glance.
