There are two ways back in. On the phone or tablet where you last opened the vault, Forgot Pin? lets you choose a new PIN once you confirm your account password. On any other device, your Emergency Kit is the way back.
Why this matters
If you ever forget it, you can reset it from the same device where you last used it—just make sure the app hasn't been deleted.
The Master PIN encrypts your vault, so nobody can look it up or reset it from outside, support included. Recovery depends on the device you last used, or on the Emergency Kit you saved.
Steps
On the lock screen, tap Forgot Pin?.
Your email is already filled in. Enter your account password: the one you sign in with, not the PIN.
Enter a new Master PIN, then enter it again to confirm.
Tap CHANGE and wait while the vault is re-encrypted with the new PIN.
You are taken back to the lock screen. Unlock with the new PIN.
What happens next
Every entry is re-encrypted with the new PIN, exactly as when you change it from Settings. Nothing you saved is lost.
Save a new Emergency Kit afterwards, so the copy you keep matches the new PIN.
If it does not work
Wrong password means the account password did not match. If you have forgotten that as well, tap the sign-out icon at the top of this screen, use Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen, sign back in on this same device, and then tap Forgot Pin? again.
If you signed up with Apple or Google, your account has no DroidPass password, so this screen cannot confirm it is you. Use your Emergency Kit instead.
On a new device, or after the app was deleted, Forgot Pin? cannot help. Use your Emergency Kit.
Some of your saved records can't be decrypted with your current Master PIN, so the change was cancelled to protect your data. Please contact support.
Good to know
Master pin must be at least 6 characters
You need an internet connection to reset the PIN.
On Android, Forgot Pin? on the autofill unlock screen opens DroidPass, and you continue from the lock screen there.
Without the device you last used and without an Emergency Kit, the vault cannot be decrypted, by you or by us. Save the kit now if you have not already.
